The Turkish Association of Irish Studies (TAIS) is a scholarly network that connects researchers and students in Türkiye with the wider international field of Irish Studies. Bringing together specialists in Irish literature, history, culture, and society, TAIS works to strengthen the presence of Irish Studies within Turkish academia, to facilitate dialogue and exchange across institutions, and to foster sustainable collaboration with colleagues and research centres abroad.

On 16 June 2026, TAIS marked Bloomsday with a special online session held in collaboration with the Embassy of Ireland in Türkiye. Chaired by Nurten Birlik (Middle East Technical University), the event opened with remarks from the Embassy of Ireland and featured talks by Gülden Hatipoğlu (Ege University) and Armağan Ekici (independent scholar and translator). More than fifty participants — including distinguished professors from universities across Türkiye — joined the discussion, making it a lively and rewarding afternoon of literary exchange. Bloomsday in Türkiye was TAIS's first public event, and the energy it generated has set the tone for many gatherings to come.

Membership
TAIS welcomes applications from academics, postgraduate researchers, and students with an interest in Irish studies. Membership is open to scholars based in Türkiye and internationally.
